In BoğaziçiMUN’25, the inter-connected committees of the U.S. Government will provide the delegates with a unique opportunity to step in the shoes of key American decision-makers. All three bodies of the U.S. Government will focus on a different aspect of the gruesome terrorist attacks of September 11. The committees will not work in isolation and be constantly affecting each other, simulating the complex dynamics of the U.S. Government and bringing the intricate interactions of legislative and executive bodies of the United States to life.

In the wake of the attacks, the Senate will convey together to authorize the President to use military force and work towards an extensive legislation to found the Department of Homeland Security. At the same time, the House of Representatives will work on drafting and adopting comprehensive counter-terrorism legislation to make sure the United States will stay safe from another attack in the future. Lastly, the Cabinet will exercise its executive powers and responsibilities to first manage the national emergency and organize the immediate response and then move towards planning and overseeing the implementation of the War on Terror.

U.S. Government delegates should note that they are responsible with reading the U.S. Government: Main Guide, and the specialized Rules of Procedure and Study Guide for their sub-committees.
